About Us
ccdc was funded on January 2003, by five faith-based organizations:
- Allen Chapel AME
- Bethel Baptist Church
- God Is Love Outreach Ministries
- Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church
- Mt. Olive Baptist Church
We have become more successful in reaching our goals thanks to the help of the City of Plant City, Hillsborough County Affordable
Housing Office and several other partners.
- In 2003 PCCDC started work on the Laura Street Revitalization Project in cooperation
with the City of Plant City.
- In 2004 PCCDC established a self-help program model patterned after the Florida Home Partnership,
aka "Homes for Hillsborough".
- In 2005 PCCDC recruited program participants, secured the participation of a lender, Suncoast Schools
Federal Credit Union, and developed staff capacity to manage and operate the prgram.
- In 2006 PCCDC secured a commitment to sell 10
lots and a contract to built 15 new homes with down payment assistance.
- In 2007 PCCDC completed the 1st phase of 5 homes in the Laura
Street Area.
- In 2008 PCCDC became a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)
- In the present the PCCDC became a HUD Approved
Agency to buy and sell Pre-existing homes and is in the process of completing the 2nd phase of 5 homes around Plant City Area.
Mission Statement
he Corporation's mission is to engage and empower extremely low, very low, low and moderate income communities by respoinding to the
needs of these communities. Activities that will meet
these needs may include but are not limited to:
- Help residents to become agents of change in their communities
- Initiating and reviewing neighborhood planning
- Actuiring and
rehabilitating properties and constructing affordable housing
- Renovating and developing commercial and industrial properties
- Assisting
small bussiness and local entrepreneurs
- Promoting job creation and retention
- Providing job training and referrals
- Promoting neighborhood
beautification and enhancement of amenities
- Providinng education and recreational programs for youth
- Promoting community arts and
cultural events
- Providing cadership development
- Advocating for improved social and public services and private investment in areas
of extremely low, very low, low and moderate income communities
- Providing credit counseling, education and training to first time homebuyers
and homeowners
- And promoting elder care
